if the tempo is too high you might find the pc sends out the data too fast & chokes the synth which can't read the data sequentialy as fast as it is being sent out from the pc. other like vst, despite having a 'sysex-editor' page, still need to send the data out from a standard midi track on the arrange page, in which case you might find that slowing down the tempo to a slow speed helps the data delivery from the sequencer to the synth. Some programmes like Cake have a good sysex editor which sends/loads sysex data. The M1 should be at that point in 'stand-by' mode, waiting for incoming data which when it 'sees' it coming from the pc, it will start to load. mostly synths either can LOAD/SAVE either a single patch or a whole bank.īasicaly after you get the procedure on the M1 to prepare it to LOAD patches/sysex data - then load the sysex file into a track on your sequencer and PLAY it out to the M1 via your pc midi OUT. in which case you could load the new sound bank to just one bank of the M1 and NOT loose anything but that BANK.

You will loose your current sounds tho which will be overwritten when you load the new sounds, so mebbe look into the manual about backing those sounds up first, if they are unique edits you made & you want to save them for later re-loading & useage - however, some synths let you load just ONE BANK of data/sounds thus ONLY overwriting one bank, not everything. The Sysex (system-exclusive) data in this case is just patch-sound/settings data - see your M1 manual for reference as to WHAT procedure to take to prepare the M1 for loading of the new sounds.
